After nearly a year of anticipation, we’re excited and relieved by the fast-approaching day of dedication to nonprofits. #GivingTuesday is a global movement allowing for a time and a space to support organizations that make a difference in our communities. It’s like Black Friday for nonprofits—anyone, anywhere can be involved, and hundreds of thousands of nonprofits participate each year.
Some critical things to note:
→ This year’s #GivingTuesday falls on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.
→ All types of nonprofit organizations are encouraged to participate by launching a campaign that entices people to support them monetarily.
→ Although #GivingTuesday is celebrated on November 27th, organizations are encouraged to start preparing at least one month ahead.
→ There is no right or wrong way to participate. Connecting with donors comes in many shapes and sizes, so do what will work best for you.
→ All donations will go directly to your organization through your website, mailbox or giving platform.

November 1-9 → Push out messages at least 3 or 4 times a week. This is an excellent time to announce your campaign details and goals.
November 12-16 → Focus your messaging on #GivingTuesday itself. Share impact stories about your organization with your audience to increase the awareness of who you are and what you do. If possible, post daily on Facebook and Instagram, and two or more times per day on Twitter.
November 19-26 → Start posting a couple times per day. Try to appeal to potential donors’ emotions and logic. Express the purpose of your organization and how financial support will impact its future.
November 27 → Consider sharing live footage or posting in real time on this day. Keep your donors and potential donors updated on your campaign. The encouragement and positivity should be high on this day.
