Kristi LaRose and Lisa Van Zyll recently installed Shelly McMillan as the newest member of the NANOE Member Relations Team. Kristi, Lisa and Shelly will be serving our nearly 3,500 constituents providing them technical support, credentialing guidance, article posting and event registration. Shelly has a rich customer service background and a strong commitment to the charitable sector. Here’s an introduction to Shelly McMillan:
With eight years of experience in customer service and management, Shelly has built a strong foundation in communication, leadership, and problem-solving. Known for her ability to handle complex customer inquiries and lead teams with a focus on delivering exceptional service, Shelly has cultivated a reputation for excellence in fast-paced environments. Over the years, she has transitioned into management roles, where she has successfully developed team dynamics, fostered employee growth, and driven operational success—all while maintaining a customer-first mindset.
Shelly’s professional journey, however, is deeply influenced by her unique childhood experiences. Raised by South African parents, she has had the privilege of traveling extensively around the world during her early years. These formative experiences not only sparked her love for different cultures but also shaped her worldview, teaching her value of adaptability, empathy, and open-mindedness. Growing up in a globally-connected family, Shelly learned to navigate diverse environments, forging connections and gaining insights that continue to inform both her personal and professional life.
In addition to her career, Shelly has a strong passion for the outdoors. She finds joy and fulfillment in activities that connect her to nature. This love for outdoor adventure mirrors her ongoing commitment to exploration and discovery—both personally and professionally.
