15 Rules for Slowing COVID-19 Nonprofit Charity

15 Rules for Slowing COVID-19 were released by The White House and Center for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday as a set of “Guidelines” that Americans should follow to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus. Today they indicated that these “Guidelines” should be considered “Rules.” Here are the 15 RULES:

Here are the 15 Rules:

1. LISTEN TO AND FOLLOW the directions of your STATE AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES.

2. IF YOU FEEL SICK, stay home. Do not go to work. Contact your medical provider.

3. IF YOUR CHILDREN ARE SICK, keep them at home. Do not send them to school. Contact your medical provider.

4. IF SOMEONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD HAS TESTED POSITIVE for the coronavirus, keep the entire household at home. Do not go to work. Do not go to school. Contact your medical provider.

5. IF YOU ARE AN OLDER PERSON, stay home and away from other people.

6. IF YOU ARE A PERSON WITH A SERIOUS UNDERLYING HEALTH CONDITION that can put you at increased risk (for example, a condition that impairs your lung or heart function or weakens your immune system), stay home and away from other people.

7. WORK OR ENGAGE in schooling FROM home whenever possible.

8. IF YOU WORK IN A CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE INDUSTRY, such as healthcare services, pharmaceuticals, food supply, etc., you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule. You and your employers should follow CDC guidance to protect your health at work.

9. AVOID SOCIAL GATHERINGS in groups of more than 10 people.

10. AVOID EATING OR DRINKING at bars, restaurants, and food courts – USE DRIVE THRU, PICK-UP OR DELIVERY OPTIONS.

11. AVOID DISCRETIONARY TRAVEL, shopping trips, and social visits.

12. DO NOT VISIT nursing homes, retirement or long-term care facilities unless to provide critical assistance.

13. WASH YOUR HANDS, especially after touching any frequently used item or surface. Avoid touching your face.

14. SNEEZE OR COUGH in a tissue, or the inside of your elbow.

15. DISINFECT frequently used items and surfaces as much as possible.

“We will rally together as one nation and we will defeat the virus,” he added.

The COVID-19 illness has caused mild or moderate symptoms for most patients, but severe symptoms have been more likely in the elderly or people with existing health problems. More than 77,000 people have recovered from it so far, mostly in China. The U.S. surgeon general said Monday that the United States was about where Italy was two weeks ago in the coronavirus struggle, a sign that infections were expected to rise.

“We are at a critical inflection point in this country, people,” Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams shared. “When you look at the projections, there’s every chance that we could be Italy.” Still, he said the U.S. had opportunities to mitigate the pandemic.” Adams claimed the U.S. had “turned the tide” on testing, a critical part of tracking and containing pandemics, but whether that was true remained to be seen.

    If the US as was Italy 2-3 weeks before, now is the time for everything to CLOSE.
