May 25, 2022 – 10am – 1pm (EST)
STAFF & BOARD CONFLICT…RECONCILING GEN Z, MILLENNIALS, GEN X AND BEYOND
with Brooke Foley – The Jayne Agency & Jimmy LaRose – NANOE

When the staff delivering on your mission is communicating unrest, discomfort or disengagement, the result is that the board loses confidence in their ability to deliver on the mission. The “Generation Gap” feels insurmountable. It shows up as employee disengagement, Board Member dissonance, the inability to deliver properly on strategic plans, messaging, and ultimately fundraising. Without aligning the staff’s passion and performance with the board’s vision and direction, and without a clear story that everyone can see a place for themselves within, performance of any 501c3 will have a difficult time succeeding. The leadership team inevitably finds themselves caught between multiple generations – and lines drawn in the sand – on almost every point in management and delivery. The answer: USE THE BRANDING PROCESS to articulate background, goals, objectives, barriers, strategies, audience, insights, position, promise, support and tone/personality so that board members, c-suite and mission based staff can all elevate through alignment. The session is high paced/high energy and comes complete with a “take it back to the team” workbook along with opportunities to ask questions. This session will deconstruct the divergent generational perspectives and share actionable strategies on how to find the common ground necessary to elevate team performance with aligned focus on your mission.

Louis-Fawcett-NANOE

JUNE 29, 2022 – 10am – 1pm (EST)
EVERYTHING YOUR BOARD NEEDS TO HEAR…BUT ARE AFRAID TO TELL THEM
with Louis Fawcett, Jimmy LaRose & Kathleen Robinson – NANOE

What SHOULD your board of directors be doing? What SHOULDN’T your board of directors EVER do? These two existential questions will be tackled DEFINITIVELY by Louis Fawcett, Kathleen Robinson & Jimmy LaRose with humor and grace. Don’t worry, you won’t get in trouble for inviting you board members to this session. Matter of fact…THEY WILL BE RELIEVED when they discover how to be super board member in a way that works for them. Volunteer board members have been sold a “bill of goods” by consultants and nonprofit associations that have never worked and never will. Volunteerism should first and foremost BE FUN and a special way to serve one’s community that’s joyful and full of satisfaction. Here’s a sneak-peek of the two words that sum up what a board member SHOULD be providing your nonprofit…ADVICE & ACCOUNTABILITY. Everything else is nonsense. We’ll explore John Carver’s famous axiom, “Board members are usually intelligent and experienced persons as individuals. Yet boards, as groups, are mediocre. Boards tend to be, in fact, incompetent groups of competent individuals.” There’s a reason Carver was right and we’ll reveal where the charitable sector went wrong. Don’t despair. We’ll lay out a plan to transform your leadership into a BOARD THAT WORKS. This session will heal your nonprofit and grow your mission in ways you never dreamed possible.
