NANOE to Install Louis Fawcett as President

Jimmy LaRose Charity

Washington, DC – January 11, 2018 – Louis Fawcett, after serving more than four years at EdVenture Children’s Museum as Senior Vice President of Principal Gifts (Columbia, SC), has accepted the position of President of the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Executives (NANOE). Bishop Redfern II, NANOE’s Board Chair, announced today that Fawcett will be installed as president February 1, 2018. Louis will be responsible for growing NANOE’s Membership and representing its Governors across the U.S. and around the world.

When asked about Fawcett’s appointment, Redfern enthusiastically shared, “We couldn’t be more excited about Louis’ decision to join the team. He’s a creative thinker, proven capacity-builder and has a genuine love for the people he serves. His life-long commitment to social impact combined with his vast nonprofit management experience has led him to this moment.” Redfern went on to say, “Louis Fawcett is a disrupter who has the courage to confront what’s wrong in our sector. We’re honored to have him lead us to new heights in service to our members.”

When asked about his forthcoming appointment, Fawcett replied, “First and foremost I love this organization and its values. I’ve personally benefited from being a charter member and have experienced first-hand what happens when an organization applies NANOE’s principles.” He further shared, “Nonprofits are tired of working today to pay for last month’s bills. NANOE prioritizes capacity-building over program services ensuring nonprofits secure the funds they need to grow their missions. I’ve accepted this position, in no small part, because of my growing frustration with our industry’s inability to achieve significant impact. Charities have been paralyzed by failed “ethical codes” and so-called “best practices” that haven’t worked in decades. NANOE relieves nonprofits of these burdens and provides them with new era management structures that ensure charities soar. I’m personally committed to giving NANOE members everything they need to transform the communities they serve.”

Reverend Louis Fawcett, holds a BA from Randolph-Macon College and two Master Degrees from Wake Forest University and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. He was privileged to Pastor three Lutheran congregations in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina.

His service to the charitable sector began with his work at Christian World Foundation where he raised support for orphans in China, Russia and Ethiopia. During the 2008 recession, Louis led a successful campaign to build a children’s home in Ethiopia. Following the 2010 earthquake, Louis transitioned to Haiti Children, a charity serving destitute families and children in that island nation. In 2013, Louis accepted the position of Senior Vice President of Principal Gifts at EdVenture Children’s Museum where he forged collaborations with under-resourced communities throughout South Carolina. He has served Central South Carolina Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) for seven years as both board member and president. He was honored in 2016 as AFP’s Outstanding Fundraising Professional.

About NANOE

National Association of Nonprofit Organizations & Executives (NANOE) is a nationwide network of donors, volunteers and charitable leaders whose relentless commitment to significant and sustainable impact transforms the communities we serve. NANOE members are innovators who solve problems (not just service them) by deploying heroic missions of scale that confront social and environmental dilemmas so completely that money chases after their every need.

NANOE is the only nationwide membership organization in the U.S. for executives seeking credentials in the art of nonprofit capacity-building. Practitioners who hold a prestigious NANOE credential are “best practice” experts who grow charitable enterprise and discover new ways to advance the common good. Ultimately, NANOE members believe that “innovation never fears a challenge” and that the greatest contribution nonprofit practitioners can make to charity is to become the creative enterprise-leaders our sector so desperately needs.
